Human Trafficking Ad
Human trafficking is the illegal trade or selling of human beings for the purpose of prostitution, labor, or other human rights violations. In, "2012 alone it is estimated that more than seven hundred thousand women and children are trafficked around the world for forced prostitution, labor and other forms of exploitation every year." (teamwmi.org) Modern day slavery is not what the society wants and needs, it violates the rights of being a human being and therefore the world does not want this to continue thus society creates posters or campaigns to end this chaos. The Government of Dubai initiated a campaign to stop human trafficking by using a really effective poster which creates a sense of anger and also telling the world what is still going on in today's society and what should be done to stop human trafficking.
A red poster with a black and white picture of a pair of hands crossing each other and faded colored fonts is a really eye catching sight. This poster was created by the Governments of Dubai and is used quite effectively because starting from the color red. It is a color that usually attracts peoples' attention because of the fact red symbolizes many things from anger to love, but a really dark red shown on the poster creates a sense of anger, vengeance, or war. These symbolisms clearly wants to grab anyone's attention that happens to walk by the poster. Next, examining the poster, there is a pair of black and white colored hands crossing each other with a barcode labeled on the right hand. This picture pretty much displays slavery because of the fact the hands are crossing each other and held in fist it looks like it is being held bondage. Also the color of the hands is black white which represents that slavery has been around for a long time and it is still here.
