A managers (leaders’) performance is evaluated by performance of his team. Similar concept goes for the Organization. In order to have best performance of an organization, its employees must perform well. This requires understanding of everyone’s behavior in organization.
Organizational Behavior is an interdisciplinary approach to the study of human behavior in organizations. Behavioral Science or Organizational Behavior is not an elemental subject, rather than it is like a compound subject, with integrated weaving of various disciplines. The scope of organizational behavior is in all three dimensions i.e. individual, group and organization. Also there are various different directions and dimensions to study of organizational behavior.
Moreover there are differences in the level of application of these behavioral concepts when compared with the theory. This report identifies and highlights differences that exist within the organizations undertaken for study. The report also brings about the variations in the behavior of organizations from different sectors and different organizations of from same sector (Healthcare). The report also throws light on how the organizational behavior transforms after merger & acquisition.
Organizational behavior, in a simple term, refers to the behavior of persons in an organization. To understand Organizational Behavior, let us first take the two terms involved: Organization and Behavior. These days’ managers have been grappling with the idea of the channelization of human energy towards the attainment of the organizational goals. The understanding of human behavior play very important role in this endeavor.
It has been observed that there has been variation in the application of theoretical concepts of Organization Behavior when it comes to real world scenario. Moreover, the practice, understanding and implementation of Organization Behavior vary as we move from one sector to other, and not only this, but also within the sector i.e. from organization to organization depending upon the scale of organization.
