Juliet is being dishonest to her parents and nurse I might add, she is pretending as if everything was all right. Juliet shows her great sense of risk taking throughout this play. Everyone can learn something from Juliet's mistakes that she had made in the play. In this quote Juliet has realized that her parents want her to marry Paris, when Juliet does not even love Paris. Juliet-"I met the youthful lord at Laurence' cell and gave him what become love I might, not stepping o'er the bounds of modesty. Juliet shows a great deal of being independent about a lot of her tough times and situations where she had to make awkward decisions. Juliet-"my husband is on earth, my faith in heaven. Juliet may have strong confidence and independence, however she also has a quality towards her that makes her different then most of the women at the time. Juliet does not want to marry Paris, however she is being dishonest and saying she wants to marry him, by lying she is definitely taking a risk. Juliet does not want to marry Paris for a number of reasons, such as because she does not love Paris and she is already married to Romeo, who is the man she truly loves. Juliet is no doubt a confident person because she is so sure of her love towards Romeo that she marries him, no matter what anyone had said. In fact, Juliet is already married to Romeo and she can not marry Paris because she would not be considered unlady like, Juliet shows how she is already married to Romeo in this quote, and by marrying Romeo that definitely makes her an independent person. Alack, alack, that heaven should practice stratagems upon so soft a subject as myself!"
