Organizational behavior and communication goes hand in hand. An organization sets specifics objectives in order to meet business success. In order for these objectives to be achieved of crucial importance is organizational communication. Communication is a key factor in the workplace for cultural expectance and normalcy. It impacts employees and management perceptions as well as conflict. I have researched and reviewed Southwest Airlines Co. organization’s philosophy, mission, vision, and values statements. This paper will discuss the organization espoused values and how the enacted values line up.

Organizational Behavior and Communication Paper
Southwest Airlines Co. organization was reviewed and researched. This paper will discuss the culture, and its communication. This paper will also describe the role communication plays in perception and organizational culture and how the misalignment between espoused values and enacted values affect perceptions within an organization. Last but not least, this paper will identify the role of conflict in group communication and how the organization might chose to use conflict to improve communication within and among groups. Herb Kelleher founder of Southwest Airlines formed the business model and corporate culture of the organization as it exists today. “Southwest has developed and almost dual-personality management team with Barrett the heart and Paul the brain. She has personally greeted almost every new recruit and created staff training programs encouraging humorous and informal approach to calm and charm passenger for which Southwest has become renowned (Field, David (2002).
